How to transcribe an interview
- 1
Save your recording
Phone voice memos, recorder files and call recordings all work. Keep your own copy, because the web app deletes the uploaded audio after processing.
- 2
Upload it
Drag the file into the box above.
- 3
Rename the speakers
Replace the labels with real names. If a line is attached to the wrong person, reassign it.
- 4
Pull out what you need
Ask the AI for the main themes or the strongest quotes, then check each quote against the timestamp before you use it.
Getting usable quotes
Check before you publish
Treat the transcript as a fast first draft. Names, numbers and technical terms are the most likely to be wrong, so go back to your recording for anything you quote.
Record two clear voices
Speaker labels work best when each voice is distinct and people do not talk over each other. On a call, record locally if you can.
Get consent
Tell the person you are recording and how the recording will be used. In many places the law requires it.
For confidential interviews
On the web
The audio file is deleted after transcription. The transcript is encrypted at rest, kept for up to 90 days, and you can delete it any time. We never sell, share or train on it.
On iPhone
The GhostMinutes iOS app keeps audio and transcripts on your device and does not upload the audio at all.
What you get with GhostMinutes
No bot in your call
You upload the file after the call, so nothing shows up in the participant list.
Old recordings work too
Upload a recording from today or from last year. GhostMinutes takes MP3, MP4, MOV, M4A, WAV, FLAC, MKV and other audio or video formats up to 1 GB.
Speaker labels and timestamps
Each line shows who spoke and when. Rename the speakers, then ask the AI questions about what was said.
95+ languages
Transcribe and summarize in more than 95 languages. GhostMinutes detects the language of each file automatically.
